MDOT Holding Meeting on Overpass Replacement Project

The $11.6 million replacement will improve safety by rebuilding the overpass that was originally constructed in 1955 and has never been replaced. The project is part of the I-94 modernization project in Detroit.

The Michigan Department of Transportation will host an open house-style public meeting in Detroit on April 4 to inform residents and stakeholders about the Brush Street bridge replacement over I-94 in Detroit. The meeting is scheduled to take place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Oakland Missionary Baptist Church, 309 Harper Ave.

At the meeting, MDOT staff members will share project details on the upcoming replacement of the Brush Street overpass above I-94. The $11.6 million replacement will improve safety by rebuilding the overpass that was originally constructed in 1955 and has never been replaced. The project is part of the I-94 modernization project in Detroit; it is expected to begin in April and end in November.

The I-94 modernization project will modernize about 7 miles of I-94 between Conner Avenue and I-96. Included in the modernization are utility and bridge replacement, improvements to freeway interchanges, and construction of an additional freeway lane.
