Ryan Discloses More Details on Trump's Infrastructure Plans

House Speak Paul Ryan said the infrastructure package should have $40 of private-sector spending for every $1 of public spending

House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wis.) said that President-elect Donald Trump’s infrastructure package should have $40 of private-sector spending for every $1 of public spending, according to a report.

“A great agency … has public-private partnerships. For every one dollar of federal dollars, there's $40 of private sector spending,” Ryan said on the Charlie Rose Show. “We want to leverage as much private-sector dollars as possible to maximize the fixing of our infrastructure.”

Up until now, this is most detailed bit of information that has been given regarding Trump’s plans for the nation’s roads, bridges and more. Democrats and some Republicans worry this split would draw attention to projects that collect user fees and tolls.

Real estate developers Richard LeFrak and Steven Roth have been tasked with identifying which projects should be targeted, and Ryan said the plan would include airports, pipelines, roads, bridges, harbors and canals.
